Clinginess

[Crazy Cat Lady]

We got Mushi about a month ago. Since we got her she's been really clingy...especially with me. Now I'm wondering if maybe she was too young or something...or maybe she wasn't mothered enough???

Some things that she's clingy about:

If I go outside, she'll stand at the window and meow for me...like I'm abandoning her or something...makes me sad.

If she wants to play, she'll come right to me and start meowing like crazy.

If she wants to lay down to sleep or wants to take a nap, she'll do the same as the above...comes to me and meows like crazy until I pick her up and put her in my lap or set her on my chest.

And yes, she even sleeps with me. When we got her, me and my fiancee were so worried about rolling onto her in the middle of the night...but she's learned who to cuddle up to and where to sleep now...aka on top of me.

Sometimes it worries me how clingy she is...I'm always wondering if something's wrong or trying to decipher what she needs or wants.

She doesn't really go my fiancee because he's really not the softy that I am when it comes to cats. He throws her down when she gets up on him...and I find that kinda cold. But really I want the best for my baby...I've spoiled her already I'm sure...but I just can't help myself!

Any advice or wise words are very much welcomed...

Actually I think this is normal. She has picked you to be "mom". Athena is the same way, she meows like crazy if she doesn't see me and her brother is right there, she has to sit on me and even bangs on the door when I'm taking a bath. She is the only one who sleeps on the bed with me at night, she chases off Apollo and Shadow.

Yeah, that sounds like Mushi. Actually she's tiny enough that she fits under the doors! If I go to the bathroom she'll crawl under the door to get into the bathroom with me.
